If you ask me reboots are not the answer. Marvel really needs to go back to taking responsibility for the choices it makes. Rewriting everything every few years make big moments pointless. Sort of related, in the late 80s and the 90s we had people writing Vision who wanted readers to dislike him so they'd accept Wanda being paired with someone else like the writers wanted to do.

In the 2000s and 2010s, even after she was dead, you had the writers doing really negative portrayals of Jean to make readers more willing to accept seeing Cyclops with someone else like they wanted to write.

What they're doing to MJ is the same way Marvel's hacks have always rolled, and too many fans do indeed blame the characters like they have any agency, instead of blaming the writers for deliberately trying to ruin a character just to make their own shipping happen.
