Both the anime and the novel spell out that the way the super-calculator works is by sending information into the past in a time loop to effectively re-use time, an irl theory about how to solve problems using CTC. That means that from an outside perspective the computer effectively calculates at infinite speed because it does all its calculation work in the past. But the reason they don't just instantly calculate the OD code is because if they loop too shortly into the future the computer will explode from combinatorial explosion, and if they loop too far in the future space-time breaking fucks with the calculations. When the calculator actually got the opportunity to run and find the OD's code, it succeeded instantly.

It sounds like the normal human military with some super sci-fi tech like a giant robot is struggling with a monster that can maybe destroy a few city blocks at a time if it really tries, which sounds expected. It also sounds like Godzilla is unable to create an avatar that can physically destroy the universe with brute strength, which is well below the level stated for Hulk by Death Battle in past episodes.

The fact that a normal human military + some tech that might be impressive to someone on Spider-Man's tier needed something that didn't exist to beat Godzilla honestly because they couldn't just kill him with their weaponry sounds so beyond irrelevant to a fight against Hulk.

I like Invincible because it's a deconstruction of common super hero tropes while also being a better storyline than the vast majority of the works it is deconstructing.

The additional miracle was it then realizing that they were looking for the wrong solution, and that if it changed its parameters they could win. Another miracle was it realizing it could send info into the past in the form of a song which the characters heard at the beginning.
Obviously the cast got lucky, but it's equally stupid to think the entire defeat of Godzilla was an impossible occurrence that came out of nowhere when the novel explains in detail specifically what happened and how it did so and how the actions of the characters ultimately managed to prevail over a seemingly impossible enemy. In a vs match all that matters is what the method used was.
