Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum
Anyone hyped for this? The preview looked interesting, mixed feelings about Batman and Wondy being in it though.

I like that after the movie de-emphasized Krypton so much that this has him saying stuff like "Rao Bless."

I'm no expert, but why does this give off a Dollar-Store-Quietly vibe?

Seems like the creative team are big Morrison/Quitely heads based on the characterization of Superman, Luthor, and Batman.

I like Quitely art but this is a pale imitation of his art.

I'm also a fan, but I'd rather not have Quietly's style become a widely imitated "school" of comic art.
Anonymous No.149776140 >>149776290
So this is blatantly "poor man's All Star Superman" then?

This is more focused on Superman's neuroses like some classic Kryptonite stories. Like he describes it in the preview it's a piece of home that can destroy him, and it clearly hurts his feelings that one of his best friends carries a piece of it around with him. In the forthcoming issues he gets turned into a Kaiju sized version of himself (representing his fear of being seen as a monster) and in another he gets turned back into Superboy.

it’s not the art, but the character designs that look like Quitely.
the art itself looks more like scavengers reign.
I agree it’s unnerving though. not sure what this style is exactly called

The team on this comic is mainly known for the horror anthology series Ice Cream Man.

but red kryptonite makes superman mentally unestable. blue one give him powers or cure him.

I read somewhere that Ice Cream Man had a "mean spirited" parody of All-Star Superman

Hmm, interesting concept. I like stories that explore Kal-El's character.

Looks like the creative team are heavily leaning on Morrison ideas, so long as the execution doesn't suck, I'll pick it up in trade.
