Adult animation is CINEMA, absolute artistic MASTERPIECES.

I actually unironically agree with this. Annoyong Orange marks the peak where internet animation starts to take a downward spiral alongside TV animation with the faux renaissance. I'm not shitposting. I genuinely believe it is a marker of eventual decline. It was afterall the first internet animated series to go into mainstream conciousness.

Is that what we are calling the early 2010s era now? because i totally agree with it

If Annoying Orange absolutely started the downfall of one thing, it was YouTube content as a whole, particularly content geared towards kids. A lot of people who grew up on golden age YouTube cite 2011-2014 as the downfall or final breaths of the classic era. Annoying Orange embodied the slop content of that period, it was basically the proto-brainrot content of YouTube, referencing now-dated memes, lets plays of whatever was popular at the time, not to mention that it wasn’t even that funny in the first place, it’s just the same joke on repeat, and kids at that shit up. The original Annoying Orange video wasn’t even that funny either ffs, other Danboe videos had stronger humor.

You can’t convince me that the Annoying Oranges slopmaking didn’t convince other creators to follow suit, ever since that channel started pumping that shit out YouTube became gradually more brainrotted.

The 2010’s gave us beanmouth, which is now forced onto all shows by executives, the 2010’s creatively damaged animation as a whole cause now the higher ups want all new shows to be like their old shows in hope of reigniting that spark.

The OG videos were not bad, they were classics. People consider them bad post-hoc with the series becoming proto-algo bait later on with the constant references. In my view Annoying Orange was the pure, concentrated juice essence of internet video humor back then, almost in a similar vein to old Cinemassacre or Machinimas. But unlike either of them it was able to escape the niche of internet notoriety and became one of many youtube big view earners which then started the ball rolling for the site's downfall and animated media as a whole, along with itself. Throw in Flash animators jumping ships and it was a doomed state of affairs.

The issue with beanmouth is how nobody in the industry willingly designs their characters like that, did you not even look at the fucking image? Corporate is getting rid of basic animation principles to cheap out and try to be "appealing". Nobody should be okay with executives sucking the creativity out of designs and animation like that. Tons of concept art designs for shows like Elio and Wylde Pak had more unique designs, them being beanmouthed in the final product shows how outside influence affected them. Also when did I use the term "Calarts style"? Retard, I just said beanmouth.

Also the writing in tons of beanmouth shows is oversanitized as shit. You wanna stand against corporations? Don’t defend that style, it’s like defending the shitty corporate minimalist artstyle.

Beanmouth also sucks cause nobody fucking finds it appealing anymore yet corporate heads keep forcing it. Turning Red and Elio also fucking suck plot-wise too, they’re geared towards children rather than being geared towards everyone like a family film should be, they’re just pale imitations of old Pixar. Pixar’s best films, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc., they all had adult protagonists that acted like adults that people my age could relate to, I can’t fucking relate to some autistic kid who like aliens.

Elsagate killed Youtube. That's the moment that the platform went from user discovery to algorithm bullshit. The rest of the internet quickly followed suit since it gave platforms unlimited possibilities to reprogram dipshits who can't think for themselves. The internet never recovered

im pretty sure they both got popular pretty much about the same time in 2009 so its not like it matters much
