This is an interview with the actress that played Alex, and she says that in the pilot episode where she ends up naked when unmorphing she was actually naked, just holding a towel to cover what was behid the boxes, and she was so embarrassed that "they changed it" so that her clothes would morph along her in the later episodes. She was like 12 or 13 when the series was made.
