He's a legitimate Tragic Figure, in the ultimate literary sense. You see here and there pieces that show a sort of dorky kid who just wants friends to hang out with, who wants to find love and be loved. You see someone who paints himself as one thing but could honestly care less about what he supposed to say/be.

But he doesn't get a happy ending. In the end his flaws win and while for a moment he's at the top from his perspective, it's cut short and he falls like the angels he's connected to.

Also technically there is another non-fused davesprite that is unaccounted for.
When jade shrunk down the planets on the greenmile ship and the guys exploded in the doomed timeline, she assumed that both davesprite and john died. In johns case he was godtier and that death was neither just nor heroic so logically he is most certainly alive, and davesprite has sprite privilege so I can see him surviving as well, but now stuck tiny.
