Most drugs either make you chill out or basically put you in a catatonic state, although reactions vary depending on the individual, most infamously with alcohol which turns some people into actual monsters while others just fall asleep or act like goofballs. There are a handful of drugs broadly associated with aggression but it's nothing the hippies were doing, that goes against like, their whole vibe maaaaaan.

yeah, the only way to make marijuana even remotely like the stereotype is to actually eat a significant amount (because your liver converts it from the base form into a psychoactive compound, which doesn't happen when it's smoked). I had 500mg (approximately 50 edibles' worth) in a hot coffee once and I was high for three days straight, sliding through dimensions and met 'god' (it was just a hallucination, I'm not religious, but it was still a nice experience)

Marijuana is actually terrible for you. It saps your ambition and rots your brain. You can remain a high-functioning alcoholic a lot better and for a lot longer than you can remain a high-functioning stoner. Both drugs are bad to abuse but weed is worse. Weed will ruin your life and turn you into a fuckup.

From my experience, when you're stoned you don't always get hungry, but you enjoy eating more if that makes sense.
Also while high you're either relaxed, anxious, or feeling like you're gonna die. I had a bad high so I'm taking a break because it felt like my heart was gonna explode for some reason all of a sudden

I don't enjoy losing control of myself, so I've only smoked weed probably three times in my life. First two weren't anything. The third time it hit me like a truck. I stood in the kitchen and struggled to make myself three nutella sandwiches, one after the other. Weed just adds a filter onto everything that makes things more interesting in an abstract way, as well as some mild euphoria and but most importantly introspective thoughts that persist even after you stop being high. People that say they stopped smoking because it makes them anxious or feel bad are typically individuals with a heavy conscious that might be bad or have done bad things. It doesn't make them act all crazy though, they usually just sober up and fix their relationships and life.

Drugs you have to watch out for that actually make people do stuff like this is anything dissociative, hypnotic, causes altered states of consciousness(yes even alcohol) or is capable of producing "true hallucinations" (which are different than something you would see on acid for example due to your brain actually believing it to be real.) Stuff like pcp, ketamine, benzos, synthetic cannabis blends, repurposed medicine like dxm syrup, etc can cause some people to have incredibly unpredictable reactions. Best way to describe it is depending on the person they could start to behave like you would if I handed you a controller with GTA on the screen, their brain just kind of goes. I once saw a girl on K dump an entire vase of water on her face, laugh hysterically, huck it a wood fence, and then sit back down as normally as she could like she didn't just do that in front of me and her other druggie friends who were all acting normalish.

Different drugs do different things:
Stimulants (coke, meth, adderall) speed you up and make you feel energetic but also shakey and sweaty and uncomfortable
Depressants (alcohol, benzos, xanax etc.) slow you down and sap your energy but leave you disinhibited and without anxiety
Opiates (heroin, oxy/perc, etc.) are super-depressants. They drain you far more but also leave you in a state of bliss. By far the most dangerous of the bunch. If you can at all avoid these during medical treatment then do so.
Hallucinogens (weed, shrooms, LSD, LSA, DMT, etc.) temporarily boost neuroplasticity and allow impulses to take new and different paths in the brain, this is an incredibly subjective experience that varies massively by dose and drug and recipient that can range from feeling like it's your first time eating something you've eaten before or listening to a song to linking wildly disparate concepts to personal revelations all the way up to warped senses or full-on hallucinations

My family work in social care and young adult mental health screening and one of the leading causes for young adult institutionalization rigjt now is weed induced mental disorders. I was outright told by my parents if I had to do drugs just do the bare minimum of not doing weed. Now, whether modern weed strains is the problem with increased THC levels compared to early cultivated weed is another thing which has nuance, but thr vast majority of weed in the market today are these highly cultivated THC strains.

The study said that even one standard drink a day can elevate it and it's basically the singular most comprehensive study on the connection between alcohol and cancer to date. Part of me doesn't want to believe it because of how many moderate drinkers I've known through my life that lived into their 90s and died of non-cancer-related things, but I also know that anecdotal evidence isn't real evidence. 1- cannabis takes effect almost immediately and is thus a drug users titrate (look it up), a stronger strain just means fewer hits to get where you want to be
2 - cannabis works by binding to a limited number of chemical receptors. It doesn't matter how much you smoke or how strong the weed is, there is a hard ceiling.
3 - excess cannabis in the body has no harmful effects and is easily handled by the liver without turnin unto harmful byproducts like the way alcohol turns into acetaldehyde

It's a bit like the alcohol buzz in that you feel more relaxed and disassociated but it's a lot better of a feeling and has none of the downsides of alcohol. You'll get some fun effects in terms of sounds and feelings and a slight headache if you have too much. You'll never get fucked up and unable to do things or puke your guts out or black out like with booze, though some people might throw up the slightest bit if they've smoked too much weed.
