It's not just that.

What stopped Change the Channel mostly in its tracks was the revelation that Justin/JewWario was the person accused of being a sex pest. That in turn raised questions about the Change the Channel side because one of the people spearheading that movement was the former HR of Channel Awesome. Then also some people on Change the Channel claiming they themselves knew about it but said nothing.

Then there was the incident where Brad got swatted and the people defending it were insisting it was a wellness check

Then Over the years people started poking holes into the arguments in the document.

One example was Lindsay claiming that Doug needed to be told what craft services were. But it turned out there was a video recording of what really happened. Doug and Barghav were telling people that they'd supply food and water but also recommended everyone to bring extra water just in case. Lindsay went "Coffee? No but, coffee." Doug didn't get what she was asking about till Spoony said that she probably meant craft services.

Monster Madness of all things had a year where scripts were other people's published movie reviews pieced together. James didn't steal the stuff maliciously, but for many years he's been letting random assholes create all the content he's a part of, and one of the writers handed him "turned in before the deadline" levels of lazy work. Nobody on the channel proofread any of his shit and just blindly made the videos despite sounding like nothing James would ever say (primarily a review of 28 Days Later through the lens of post-9/11 imagery).
