Religious /co/ Material
Comics and cartoons by or about religions/religious figures. Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, whatever. It can either be stuff you saw as a kid or found rips of online. Satanic panic shit and material made by cults count as well. I'm just very interested in this topic. partially because I never really grew up with it. The most I got was a viewing of Aladdin at my mosque as a kid, I guess because it took place in an Middle-Eastern-inspired setting.

Reminder that /pol/tards aren't being ironic when they post this stuff here. They unironically believe it and are just pretending it's a joke so they can trick people into reading it. It also helps them get their foot in the door - since the topic of conversation is already religion, it's way easier for them to convince people to join their cult

I watched this show not too long ago, unfortunately the... Ahem... Totally legitimate channel through which I accessed it... Lacked the specific episode Jesus goes to America, and weirdly enough it annoyed me despite knowing that all Jesus does in the actual Book of Mormon is just repeat the sermon on the mount and then goes away.
Anyway, the show does do a good job of presenting the story of the BoM in a much more interesting way. If you can get past the fact that nothing described in those stories could have happened, it does make look like kinda a decent story. There is of course the problem that it was made by people who take this crap seriously, which means it does depict the characters acting stubborn and repeating the same mistakes in really stupid ways, something that would have been fixed if it was made by someone who didn't think this was more than a fictional story.
The only thing that was too much for me was the "hang on to the rod" episode, as that has narration to explain what's going on and... God damn... Joseph Smith's retarded tendency to write shit like "And then it came to pass so that it came to pass that it then came to pass" is on full display and it's annoying as fuck.

Here's the good stuff I've found
>The Harrowing of Hell by Evan Dahm
Depicts the events following the Crucifixion, with the interpretation of a gentle pacifist Christ. I suspect Dahm might be a communist weenie, but it's still a damn good book.
>Judas by Jeff Loveness
I bought this one blind, on a whim, having spotted the cover in a /shelf/ thread.
It also depicts the Harrowing of Hell, but from the perspective of Judas, who having killed himself after the Betrayal, arrived in Hell a little earlier than Jesus.
>The Goddamned by Jason Aaron
It's as edgy as you expect from him, but fantastic nonetheless. Follows Cain, the first Murderer, in the immediate Antediluvian days. He seeks a way to finally die, and has heard talk of Nephilim, sons of Angels and human women. Meanwhile some madman by the name of Noah is going around collecting all the animals and wood he can, prophesying a great flood.
Absolutely fantastic art.
Has a sequel, The Virgin Brides, that I haven't read yet, mainly because Image never released an Oversized HC to match the first one.
>Sedermasochism by Nina Paley
Actual animation this time, it's the story of Exodus, portrayed mostly through music videos, interspersed with Nina talking to her significantly more Jewish father about the traditions of Passover.
Nina Paley also completely disregards any notion of "Copyright", and did not pay a single red cent for the licensed music used through the whole thing, so you can't find it on Youtube.
Also worth noting-
>Genesis by Robert Crumb
It's just straight up the first book of the Old Testament drawn by that guy who draws naughty pictures of women and likes them a little thicker than most. Surreal when you've seen his other works.

Chick Tracts are the kind of delusions I enjoy so much. Coherent enough that I can sense the sincerity yet has so many crazy thoughts that make me laugh.

Chick tracts "go hard" because they're meant as warnings for people, and as such they'll often use outlandish imagery and storytelling to try and scare people.
No one is praising the messaging or the quality of the writing.
Again, "goes hard" and "is good" is not synonymous.

just because you can be forgiven for it, doesn't mean you should be doing it.

I like how he makes it seem like the Bible is the source for Stewie being gay

>and lo, chief among the fornicators and sodomites shall be the child whose head is shaped as though a ball for sport
>he shall appear as that of a painting given life
There was a time when people used to think this verse referred to Arnold.
