I genuinely think that Absolute Superman is better than Absolute Batman. The latter is just pure retardation, while the former is a little bit slow but actually has something to do with the wider narrative at large. Batman AF is literally just Snyder being even more of a retard and is hard carried by the art leaning on the horror aspect, but that's too scattered to matter. Absolute MM and WW are actually the best of the bunch, but between AbSuperman and ABatman, the former takes the win.

Think about it. Batman's villains have been turned into a half-assed BatFam, and what villains remain are just utterly cliche and tryhard.

Batman. Whereas Superman actually proceeds with the core Darkseid plot by tying Ras and Lazarus and the Omega Men and Legion and the New Gods and all that together. It's doing something. And Kal's got more of a personality than the cardboard cutout that is Bruce.

I just don't get the hype ABatman gets. I get that it's lauded by retards who grew up with shonen, but come on, the book is just trash. Fraction's Batman is the one that's going to be the BatBook worth reading.

Absolute Batman is retarded but self-aware about it, like you said it has a specific audience really.
Absolute Superman is a bunch of ideas not executed all that well so far. I'm not sure who would actually enjoy this beyond people hoping it gets better (and it is slowly getting better I guess)

Wonder Woman is nice. Nothing groundbreaking but by this character's standards, where for some reason writers often suddenly lose IQ points when writing her, it's solid so far.

I don't like that it's Ras being used in Superman AF instead of an actual Superman villain, especially right at the start of it. I know Brainiac is there as well and will likely take over this arc shortly but still. Could've easily used Vandal Savage instead too.

Supposed to be DC's attempt at an Ultimate Universe, sort of. The actual setting is supposed to be the underdog heroes representing the downtrodden vs the evil mega rich mega elite villains who do full on conspiracy theory type stuff like sacrificing babies to lengthen their lifespans and so on, but it's still being set up
The selection of writers they chose for this is odd though, you'd think DC would put their best guys on a project like this

Anon, these are the "best guys" the current writer pool has left. And I don't mean that they're quality writers, but sans Hickman, there aren't any other "big names" left. Fraction and Gillen pop up every so often. But now the "ceiling" is Hickman and Ewing. Aaron and Snyder are big names with the zoom-zooms who have only ever read God Butcher and Nu52 Batman. This is DC trying their "best". Which is sad, period.
