Lemme see if I can find it, thread was fucking forever ago. But basically Scarface parallels Batman better because he matches Bruce's control issues [like how one of his biggest problems is being too controlling and damaging to his associates, Scarface is a literal parasite who takes it even further and can't function without a "sidekick" to control and act for him, similar to how when Batman clamps down too hard on people to do things "his" way], is able to attack not just Batman's efforts to improve Gotham but Bruce Wayne's organically because as a mafia boss he can corrupt and corrode all the charities, institutions, etc that Bruce pushes to fix up Gotham, the duality is also on point [Bruce is secondary to the Batman identity, meanwhile, Albert's irrelevant compared to the will of Scarface], there's the thing that a lot of people think Batman is supernatural when he's mundane, while Scarface is pretty clearly the opposite [everyone thinks he's a puppet, but it's clear at this point that he isn't, since he clearly knows shit independent of a "host" on more than one occasion.], and capping it off, Bruce created Batman as an insane, impossible response to fight the Mafia, so it kinda makes sense that to fight Batman some ludicrous bullshit would manifest as a caricature of the mafia to oppose him.
There's some other stuff I remember, like how if Scarface is genuinely magic and if so how much exactly makes a good parallel to the question of if Gotham is regular corrupt or if Batman is actually legitimately fighting some kind of metaphysical evil fueling how fucked up the place is, etc. I'll see if I can find the original thread and any others.
