I actually like this idea, but I think the Idea of him being more tech-based would beg the question how he has access to materials and technology. Does he develop them? Does he get them from a benefactor? The reason why tech-heroes work, like Batman or Ironman is because "lol rich" lets you suspend disbelief when it comes to development and resupply.

Have him go on multiverse adventures as part of a team of reality-displaced superheroes instead of having him stuck on Earth 616. Spidergwen can also be on the team but that's it for spider-people.
The team lives in "Newest York", which was created through some magic Dr. Strange bullshit that makes it so, in the event of a universe getting destroyed, that universe's New York will get pulled through a portal and get thrust onto this battle-world style patchwork of New Yorks. Abunch of superheroes ended up at Newest York due to this, but regular civilians did as-well. It's a community of Multiversal Refugees, but they all are still from New York, so they still have Hotdogs and shit. You can do some comedy there.
You could throw some other characters on this team like Iron Patriot from a universe where he's still around, The Hulk but instead of turning into a Hulk he turns into a giant head MODOK type creature when he gets mad. Etc

I’ve actually had an idea for Miles for a while.

Essentially the crux of Miles’s character is that he is terrified of being alone and being the sole bearer of responsibility. He wants to fade into the background while still being appreciated. He wants to be a hero but he doesn’t want the burden of being the only hero called Spider-Man. Fundamentally Miles is torn between these concepts, and he desperately wants to be on a team. This is even metaphorically reflected in his powers. He turns invisible like fading into a crowd and he uses electricity as a metaphor for drawing strength from others.

Personally I would force Miles into a situation where he’s doomed to fail. He has a team, he gets separated from them, he tries to face the villain on his own, and he fails. From then on Miles would retreat ever further into the mob. Becoming increasingly dependent on his fellow heroes while neglecting his civilian life until he is eventually isolated again. And once isolated he will be forced to face the question of who is Miles Morales when he’s alone. Who is Miles without a team without a mask, without powers.
The answer is that he’s a scared kid calling out for help. A man who doesn’t want to make the hard choices or even think for himself because the pressure terrifies him. But he doesn’t have to stay that way. The choice is his
