The Eds should’ve done more to earn the kids respect. Maybe have Eddy’s brother try to attack the cul de sac kids after he’s done with Eddy, only for the Eds to save them in the end.

No, it was a good finale at the time but now that 15 years have passed, it's arbitrarily a bad finale now.

But I think them seeing Eddy’s brother do that him made them get context on why he’s the way he is and they got sympathy for him
It’s one thing to hate a dog who bites you but once you see how it’s treated by its owner you can’t help but feel bad and want to help it

The thing is, only Eddy and Double D (barely) were injured. I’d expect the kids to forgive Eddy but not Double D and Ed since they came out relatively unscathed.
