This, it's very Frank Miller and obviously a way he worked out his trauma about 9/11. The way he made an Irishman the most dedicated insane Jihadi on the block was a pretty blatant way to communicate "it's not a race that's the problem" but wasn't too distracting. Overall it's just... content. A couple interesting layout ideas.

The hate for it is overstated. Is it one of his better works? No. Is it one of his lesser works? Yes. Is it racist at all? No, because batma- I mean the fixer - isn’t shown as having achieved anything. The last page shows you that he did nothing to make the people of empire city. It paints literally every politician and reaction to the attack as bloodthirsty and fruitless.
But people latched on to “b-b-brown people were bullied after 9/11!!!” and wouldn’t come off it.
So it’s overhated and to such a degree that it’s actually underrated. Even if it isn’t all that good.

I'm a sucker for Miller's art as long as he stays the fuck away from coloring it, and I find myself mirin' some of the action shots cause some look amazing while the montage pages are laugh out loud goofy when you think of Miller sitting in front of his desk biting his lower lip and inking a rough Sarah Palin or Michael Moore charicature thinking how hard it goes.
The whole thing reads like a revenge fantasy from a unhinged Deviant art poster 10 years late to the party, Frank kinda feels so too nowadays.
It's not good but I prefer it over 300 honestly.

Okay brownoid. concession accepted.

uh-huh?
Probably the intention but still reads like I described, it was made by a guy who at the time was angry and it shows, and that's fine. >>149836584
Ok? just prefer his work sticking to two or three colors per page, shallow but makes his heavy blacks look better.
It's why I keep coming back to Holy Terror and Sin City rather than 300, DK and Ronin.

7/10 It's good. Not great, not terrible. A middle point between Sin City and Miller's Batman. It isnt 'racist' unless Al-faggeda is a race now.
Some of his weaker art, I feel like the view on it and spun back round to it being under-criticised nowadays and written off as "well Frank was just upset, but it's still good!". It isn't racist and that whole fake outrage muddies the point that it's just shit in the more generic sense.

As an arab, I read the whole thing because fags on the internet told me that i should hate it, but i honestly found it really funny.
In its really bad, it's comedic type of way.
Do I give a fuck about what Frank Miller thinks and his politics? Not at all, but the fucker did write The Man Without Fear and Sin City, so I can't really be mad at him for so long kek
