I don't care that it's a meme and I don't care that it's edgy. I just want to know how it was planned to end. What Project Gotterdamerung even is.
I wish Avatar would just sign the IP back to Gillen... Yeah, like that will ever happen

I unironically like Uber even though it's fucking stupid. The issue where the superspeed guys murder the Nazi elite guy with 1,000 cuts to the throat is probably in my top 20 favourite comic moments.

Is Uber one of the most literal examples of a comic that could not be made today?

No, it could be picked back up for publishing tomorrow.

While reading it, I was kind of imagining what an uber-modern world would be like. Although I feel like the comic was going to end in an apocalypse.

It was definitely perfectly designed to appeal to a certain kind of nerd, especially once you get into the weeds about dose caps and stacking particular combinations of physical and halo enhancements.

Yeah, Gillen is too fond of the dramatic reveal and working from an unseen alien document gives him total author carte blanche. This just gets tiresome so quickly.

This page is so hot, and even more when you know the context — she knows he’s a little child with the body of a 3-meter-tall adult, and still went for it.

It's gonna end with the nazis somehow winning so we can set up the sequel series where DA RESISTANCE creates superhumans to fight the nazi world order.

i think he did mention something about just quickly shitting out an "ending" and selling them all as a collected edition.
id buy it just because its such a retarded storyline

If I got to end it I'd have it start with this >>149838217 and then just get sillier from there. The Axis counters, then the Allies, then the Axis again, then aliens get involved because why the fuck not, just back and forth and forth and back for 64 excruciating pages escalating to bigger and freakier supers until the last shot is something akin to this:

>Gillen is too fond of the dramatic reveal
That hasn’t changed - almost every issue of The Power Fantasy has had some kind of cliffhanger ending or last-page reveal, although some are definitely bigger than others. Once and Future was pretty rough towards the end for the same reason; but the art kept me going.

I mean the aliens were always indicated to have been involved. Or if not aliens, Atlanteans or primordial ubermensch or whatever. I think the cheapest ending would be Turing's 'Codex Two' contains a method of destroying all the ubers, and he ends up poisoning himself like in IRL history to initiate their destruction.

How is activating a tank man different from activating a halo effect guy? I read the comic and I don't remember it being explained beyond "we give these guys two points in super strength and these other guys two points in magic". I know the battleships are 24 activations.

t’s been a long time since I read the comics, but how did the Allies mess up so badly in getting a battleship that wasn’t a Colossus right at the start? The Nazis got three and they were very useful . did the Allies just have terrible luck, or did they go in a different direction? I don’t remember.

I meant other aliens like this twee little fucker right here. That way the story can get in some butt stuff.

Strength and magic are different development pathways. Most human sensitives can be considered as having 2 slots, but some have more.

First thing produced with the tech is 1:1 strength:magic. Later the Germans realise they can do 0:2 magic for the halo guys, and the British discover 2:0 strength for the heavy tankmen (but this is leaked to the Germans by a mole).

They also realise there are steps in-between 2 slots and 24 slots although they seem to work in orders of 6. So you have 6, 12, 18 and 24. Quite possibly the Russian woman has more than 24 slots. Using more slots has a stronger-than-linear effect, so a 5:1 strength:magic ends up being physically stronger than a 6:6 strength:magic despite having half the apparent capacity. It looks like you need some level of counterbalancing magic to strength to not wind up a monster though.

The Nazis just started a lot earlier. They had the project running the background and producing tankmen for more than a year before the actual start of the comic. Once the Allies' spy got them the research they tried to move as quickly as possible, but they were playing catch-up.

How many years does the story take place from the first comic to the last? It's impossible that the Allies have never been able to develop a battleship other than Colossus. But I guess okay the story ends if they had succeeded.
Anonymous No.149841526 >>149841616
>>149841479
I don't think the story is even one year from the first comic to the last. Battleships take several months to ready, and by the point Invasion got up to there had been 5 more battleship potentials identified on the Allies' side: Colossus' brother, the two black guys they capped down at heavy cruiser level, Leah who they fucked up experimenting with strength capping, and the 13 year old Spanish girl. That last one came after Britain was under Nazi occupation, but they smuggled her out.

Yes. He tore up a bunch of the US but got bounced by the Russian girl and killed by the American heavy cruisers while he was still injured. I think at that point Gillen was really just trying to wrap it all up though.

everyone should just copy her build, katyusha is basically a goddess
Anonymous No.149841912
>>149841827
They don’t even know what her build is. She has some kind of telepathic power and may well have capped out higher than 24 given how much more violent her blood’s reaction to the catalyst test was than even a normal battleship’s. She could be all halo, mostly halo or an entirely new thing.
