How come cartoons are respected but not comics?
American comic books have been consistently trashed on for capeshit/objectifying women/woke agenda/geek/virgin/loserbait, whereas despite the common criticisms, American cartoons are still more accepted mainstream. Even the weebiest of weebs (people who only consume japanese entertainment) can show some respect for some of the iconics or classics like Spongebob, Regular Show, or Looney Tunes.

I estimate 86% of /co/ has not watched 38% of all cartoons, which make your claim of statistics and ratings dubious at best.

Because people grew up with cartoons and only cared about comics when movies came plus moving pictures will always be cooler then comic pages
