SCP Foundation
It has been a while since we had an SCP thread. I'm going to start by posting chapter 1 of Connorverse, a comic continuation of Confinement. It adapts the original premise of episode 8.

Cool to see the original ep concept. It feels a bit off but im sure its just the art style since its based on the OG script, or maybe its the lack of voices/humor that accompanied the original series
Either way id really like to see more, but lets see how hopeful that is since it looks like the artist hasnt posted much since october and only gets $5/month on patreon

Same. It is one of the best articles that get me emotional.
>When 15 minutes passed and Professor B had not exited, a nurse entered to find he had hanged himself with his belt. A scribbled message on the wall revealed his last words: β€œI can’t go back to this”.
>Book Keeper: (wiping his eyes) He had such an active imagination! I was able to create a vast and beautiful universe for him and it was obvious that he had wanted a life like that for so long. He conquered foul beasts and rescued princesses… He built kingdoms and even raised a family… but he never wanted to leave. He delved so far into his fantasy world that I soon realized he preferred his dream over the real world. I reminded him that this was all merely an illusion, but he wouldn’t listen to me. He stated that if he was ever forced to leave, he would immediately end his life. I tried to keep him happy for as long as I could…
>Dr. F: …Book Keeper… how long was the dream from his point of view?
>Book Keeper: …200 years, Doctor. I did my best but I could only hold onto him for 200 years. As sweet as dreams may be, eventually we all have to wake up.

>History: The existence of SCP-XXXX became apparent during its involvement in Incident XXXX-PH.
>At approximately 07:48 HST, SCP-XXXX surfaced ~1.5 nautical miles south of Ford Island, coinciding with the Imperial Japanese Navy’s aerial assault on Pearl Harbor. SCP-XXXX then proceeded to engage US naval assets directly, resulting in a total of 6,216 casualties. This event served as the catalyst for the 1942 BK-Class (β€œBroken Masquerade”) Scenario, during which the existence of SCP-XXXX, along with that of multiple major players in the anomalous world, was publicly acknowledged by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
>Following this, SCP-XXXX was intermittently sighted across the Pacific Ocean between 1946 and 1977, generally avoiding populated areas but occasionally targeting maritime infrastructure. Multiple attempts by US military forces to locate and destroy SCP-XXXX during the late 1940s and 1950s failed, with the weapons of the era proving ineffective against its dermal armor.
>On 4 October 1977, Foundation monitoring satellites detected SCP-XXXX surfacing approximately 480 kilometers northeast of Wake Island. The US Department of Defense subsequently initiated Operation Nemesis, a retaliatory strike utilizing carrier-based aircraft and submarine-launched torpedoes. The attack inflicted only superficial injuries and failed to significantly impede SCP-XXXX's advance or harm it.
>Fifteen days later, SCP-XXXX was observed swimming erratically before beaching itself on an uninhabited atoll. Foundation teams found the entity deceased, with no external trauma sufficient to explain its death.

Anonymous No.149855021
>>149854662
>>149855000
>The remains of SCP-XXXX were seized by Foundation assets and transported to Biological Research Area-12 for study. An autopsy determined that the cause of death was systemic organ failure consistent with senescence. Skeletal analysis suggested SCP-XXXX was between 180 and 220 years old at the time of death.
>After having been reclassified as Neutralized, the Foundation contacted the United States Government and offered to transfer ownership of SCP-XXXX’s corpse to it. The offer was accepted, and the remains of SCP-XXXX were extracted from Area-12 and transported to Pentagram Facility Charlie-Delta, after which they were moved to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
>In years following Incident XXXX-PH and World War 2, accounts of SCP-XXXX’s appearance and abilities became widely known within anomalous and non-anomalous communities. These accounts directly inspired the 1954 Japanese kaiju film Gojira (released in Western countries as Godzilla), produced and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd.

Scrapped episodes revealed that Connor gets his immortality from a demon that his ancestor made a pact with centuries ago to get great power
With the right triggers connor can turn into a skyscraper tall monster that can level whole towns
It also makes women around Connor attracted to him so that they'll bear his child and continue his bloodline because Connor can still get old
The site manager where Connor is held is controlled by a house spirit that has full control over the whole site
Connor's ancestor destroyed his home and killed everyone in the village in the Ikea flashback so he has a vendetta against him and works with the foundation so he can get revenge
He was gonna extract the demon from Connor and have him disposed of
Some people theorized this would reveal that Connor's mom found out about the whole deal so she gave birth to Connor, killed his dad, and then left him in the car to be rid of the whole thing

The premise by itself is off putting to me because I don't like interpretations of the SCP verse where every anomaly is connected or part of a greater whole. The Foundation suddenly becoming very concerned about the anomalous disappearing and practically doing a 180 degree turn on their mission statement. The fact that the article is just a hub for a bunch of self-inserts going on totally unrelated quests (of which I don't give a single shit about). The fact that some apparently ordinary humans can KILL the Ambassador of Alagadda and give the Hanged King a fight by themselves. I hate Placeholder's style of writing. The revelation that this was all entirely worthless because the Impasse has happened almost 10 or so times before and nothing fucking happened to humanity sealed the deal for me.

It leans way too fucking hard into Pataphysics abd technobabble bulshit when it doesn't really need to. It's just a machine that pulls characters out of fictional universes into the real world, I don't need to read a quantum physics lecture to figure that out.

It's a lake that creates avatars which kidnap trannies about to join the 41% and teleports them to the lake that nobody else but trannies can ever find. The lake itself makes you into the opposite sex with no strings attached and no drawbacks whatsoever. It actively fights back against any containment efforts and runs rings around the secret organization that has defeated or otherwise contained ancient gods and other nightmarish eldritch monsters, even makes fun of them. But the "high"light of the whole shebang is that the SCP itself is a Tale in disguise (because of course) where a 12 year old girl effortlessly intimidates and guilt-trips a veteran researcher belonging to an amoral black ops organization focused on containin anomalies into turning traitor and aiding an abetting an SCP as well as sabotaging containment before turning tranny himself because he was always a girl on the inside and somehow never really thought about it. Also they get away scott free. Incidentally it's protected by the staff so you can't even downvote it.

A lot of long story formatted SCPs are like that because it's a way to get around the whole "choose what you want to be canon" shtick the website runs on to not have to acknowledge that there's a lot of sewage shit that probably should be deleted

Motherfucker, I thought the reason they did that was that almost nobody reads Tales, so they hoodwink readers into picking up their wannabe Hollywood screenplays. But no, the motivation is even more disgusting and dishonest. I hate it.
Anonymous No.149905570
>>149905386
That's not the motivation either. It is much more simple. It's to make the SCP more interesting to read. For example, writing a basic entry about a monster or cursed item is not enough since it has already been done before. How do you make people care about it? Unfortunately, the wiki keeps telling newbies to incorporate a narrative to make things more interesting. It causes entries to become tales since the format is restrictive. Sometimes test logs can satisfy people if the anomaly produces interesting results.

It only made sense with Connor because he can't die. It’s funny, the anomaly in question is simple enough while still capturing the reader’s interest via the protagonist, and the story knows not to take itself too seriously. Contrast this to SCP-8000, which reads too much like a personal trauma dump for its own good.
