>the first one showed that you do NOT want to be like Joker. You're just upset that the 2nd one didn't sugarcoat it
WTF are you talking about? No one IRL wants to emulate the Joker. We know Joker is evil, and no one wants to be him. He's just interesting to watch as a villain. We wanted to be entertained. Light from Death Note, Darth Vader, Griffith from Berserk, Vaas from Far Cry? They're all villains, and I have literally met no one who said they wanted to follow their example.
I swear you Philips apologists just make up random, false accusations that aren't true. I like the first movie because Arthur was a serial killer and started a political movement that was hindering the city. He was terrorist like in the comics, and you can see why he is Batman's archenemy.
Joker 2 was a fucking musical borefest that went too long and spent too much time telling the audience that Arthur was a loser. Joker is based on a comic book; you guys still read comics, right? He's supposed to end up as being a threatening force to Batman.
Expecting a Joker origin story revealing how he became Batman's archenemy and how he got there isn't something you should be shocked about when you don't get it, and fans get pissed that this wasn't actually the real Joker.
It would be like if Disney did an Emperor Palpatine movie, but instead of focusing on his rise to power, it portrayed him as a loser the entire film, only to be tricked by the studio into revealing that we weren't actually watching the real Emperor the whole timeโhe was just a clone. So you just wasted everyone's time watching this nonsense.
That's how it feels to watch Joker 2. It wasn't even about Joker's origin story that the studio marketed it as to fans. We we literally just watching a pretender.
