Batman needs some recurring alien villain.
Something like an alien invader that tries to get more of his kind in Gotham illegaly now that it's full of superheroes

I read those stories and only one had real aliens in it, they were making a game of hunt where they hunted Batman and Robin, but they weren't in Gotham.
And all the others were fakeout aliens, one of them even dressed up as an alien he found the ship of but the actual alien didn't appear.
So they should give Batman an alien mob boss that doesn't fake it but it's an actual alien

Interesting point is the similarity of the villain in picrel with the human villain Moonman from the 70's Filmation series.

There's two BatFam-related alien stories I've always wanted to see.

Someone from the Citadel kidnaps Nightwing to fuck with Starfire, not realizing they're no longer a couple. Babs and Kory team up to save him while Dick is pulled into an inter-planetary conspiracy set to destabilize the entire Vega system.

DC should have a city (ideally around Gotham-Bludhaven-Metropolis corridor) that's basically Kowloon for aliens. Make it a little microcosm of DC Cosmic right on Earth. Then send Batman in to extricate a murderous Durlan.

Batman can't have aliens in it because that's too close to Dick Tracy area. Tracy had a space age era, including a moon maiden and hoverboards. That's why Robin/Nightwing is not allowed to marry Starfire. The Bat Signal and the utility belt has been in decline since the 1990s. It's too gadgety. Superman characters have a signal watch, but Batman is never allowed to have one because he is not allowed to be Dick Tracy.

Superheroes having a rogues gallery is slop writing, it's done by writers incapable of thinking of anything original, and approved by editors who only think of money.

The movies unironically handle superheroes way better than the comics.
Villains don't miraculously come back after being defeated. They're introduced, they challenge Batman, Batman defeats them, and then they're GONE, they don't come back. Batman doesn't dedicate 50+ years to solving crime in Gotham, he shows up, he takes out the villains, and then the city is safe and he retires.

I wasn't alive then, so you're admittedly relying on me relying on other sources, but it is what I'd heard and it seems to match the few comics from the time I read. Batman was doing great, then Wertham happened, they start making changes in reaction, they start trying to copy Superman, they flail, the comic is near cancellation numbers, starts improving by trying to return a bit to pulp detective stuff within CCA limits, things are going fine for a bit, it starts copying what the Adam West show was doing more fully in tone, flounders again after a bit of that, needs full reinvention that leads to the bronze age eventually
