Early Simpsons basically has it heavily implied that Christianity is correct and God exists. Homer basically meets God but they put some subtlety in the writing so it's possible it was just a dream. They even give God the neat little detail of having 5 fingers on each hand while everyone else just has 4.

Later crappy Simpsons episodes had Homer get smart and he goes to Flanders saying "I have mathematically proven God doesn't exist!" and Flanders looks at the paper and goes "well there's no denying this" and then just pretends it never exists.

Even a show like Rick and Morty that gets associated with Reddit fedoralords has Rick "smartest man in the universe" Sanchez admitting he doesn't know if God exists when his life is on the line and he ends up praying.

High church is still a Protestant concept. The closest thing to "low church" outside of Protestantism are Catholic "charismatic" churches that do stuff like dancing and have a soft-pop band playing hymns, but the Eucharist liturgy is still the same, thankfully.
I know nobody asked, but my parents used to take me to a charismatic church and their masses would take like 2-3 hours, when the average mass in a normal church is like 40 minutes to 1 hour. I'm far from being a 'good' Catholic because I don't go to church that often, but when I do, I always avoid charismatic stuff because it feels too Protestant and it takes forever to get through. I prefer Mass of Paul VI or Tridentine if available.

If you think Protestants were the culprits and Catholics or Orthodoxy are respectable voices of authority in the 20th to 21st century you really are lost. You want to know why Anglicans became gay? The same reason the Catholics did and Orthodoxy is a fucking disgrace when you actually look at their history. But in spite of that we as christians should collaberate, but no. We have to cut ourselves up in oppostion to one another while allowing earthly forces to compromise the Lord's word and one church while pinning the source of corruption on eachother instead of the autocrats who seek to take supremacy over the souls of their subjects.
