>23 of the media franchises valued at $2B+ originated in comic books or comic strips

>comic artists are all poor as shit
>even the comic artists responsible for huge franchises see almost none of the profit

Why do people who make comics enjoy getting raped by the industry so much?

you can say this for anyone working for a corporation. the difference is artists can get some clout and make bank with commissions/get more work

Entire family estates are being publicly held down and violated by industries, and you're laughing. You're laughing.

For substantially most of what you are frogposting and blathering about, you're talking creators who are dead (for Marble and DC franchises) and, in a few of those instances, of creators who themselves financially profited from and took advantage of other creators (e.g. Stan Lee, Bob Kane) - not that this excuses anything done to others. But the point is that in the 1930s, 40s, 50s, even when they were the best selling periodical type publications (e.g. Superman, Captain Marvel), we're talking things selling for $0.10 a copy and a far different 'media franchise' valuation in THOSE days certainly not near "2B+" even if you inflation adjust till your balls hurt.
