Between spellbinder and inque there's something really funny to me about how everytime they've tried to do a batman beyond comic they instantly stop giving a shit about terry's supporting cast and rouge gallery to focus on the writer's oc's, and yet now they're mining his series for materiel completely divorced from... you know... taking place in a cyberpunk future.

Apparently the batman beyond concepts aren't good enough to use in a batman beyond comic, but good enough to steal for the main universe.

This book is pretty good, idk why /co/ insists it isn't. It's addressing most of the shit you all wanted from Taylor's run like getting rid of Dick's fanon personality, giving Melinda a personality, and having consequences for Dick being a billionaire. The biggest problems with it is Melinda still being his half sister (which he got stuck with) and Dexter's art not fitting it at all (Francavilla should've been the main artist but I think he's slow af).

God I wish Cass could be free from Shiva and al Ghul/LOA shit plaguing her books. Give her ANYTHING else to work with please.

Still hilarious as fuck DC has now put Jason with Dick's sloppy seconds 3 times. DC hates him so bad lmao.

He probably already personally killed multiple people in the mid 00s.

You can tell DC K.O. is gonna be retarded because the whole thing is only 4 issues (basically defeating the point, we are not seeing any real long fights until the end). And all the tie-ins are just completely unrelated, so none of them are actually expanding on the tournament:
>Flash has prevent Impulse from creating Impulsepoint!
>Mr Terrific assembles
>Superman and Lex Luthor team up! (Don't they do that every two weeks?)
>The Titans evacuate Earth and then get stranded across the Galaxy to fight Jinx and Blackfire!
>Batman fights multiverse Batmen!

>Flash has prevent Impulse from creating Impulsepoint!

Getting the shonen audience, this is not.

Tom Taylor was also happy with Supergay's sales, right before he canceled that piece of shit. The Absolute line is killing everything else at DC except the main Batman comic.

desu good on Ivy for being able to support a book for 40 issues.
Curious how long DC can keep it going because I doubt it'll last Wilson leaving unless they put Thompson on it.

could see Wilson leaving after 50 issues. Writers going for a book longer than that is practically unheard of these days

tl;dr "I know nothing about this character and don't even like this genre but DC is paying me to write this book"
I like the honesty but we need Total Editor Death at DC.

Eh I don't think its necessarily as bad as you're making it sound she's interested in the concept of the ex-Robin from the streets who kills people. Frankly ignoring the last 22 years of Jason's all over the place continuity isn't the worst thing.

>I did not see any of the animated series until I was in my late twenties, and I never read comics as a kid, at least not cape stuff.
>I'm still not its biggest fan: it's not something that appeals to me inherently
>They gave me an opportunity to pitch for it, and said they'd like me to write it, and then my pitch was accepted. It was really short and straightforward.
>They had a couple of ideas. They wanted it set somewhere outside Gotham, in some sort of interesting locale in America. And they wanted Huntress to be involved. Those were really the only top down requirements that I came in with.
>So I have not actually read this comic, but apparently it springs off from Hush 2 –
>I mean, no shade! I'm sure it has a lot to recommend it, and is appealing to a lot of people with taste different than mine.
This is not someone who should have been hired to write a bat-book, only there because of hipster editor favoritism.
