The new art style is 100x better than whatever the fuck the old one was.

Sabrina is a good way to show how fucking ugly the old art style was. Before they fucked up her hair and outfit at the end of Daddycop, her old design in the new art style is so pretty and cute compared to how creepy and ugly she looked before.

Problem is the new character designs are fairly lackluster. Chat Noir looks weird compared to before, Adrien looks even more feminine, and Juleka, Rose, Sabrina and Nathaniel's are genuine travesties.

The only ones I'd say have better designs are Mylene (getting rid of the ugly hair), Nino (giving him some hair under his hat), and Zoe (her outfit is more appealing and her hair is more balanced). Kim, Max, and Alix look about the same.

Marinette and Adrien's puffy face makes her look younger when it should be the opposite.
also I hate the fuzzy lighting they put everywhere, plastic textures was unironically better than this shit, they went way too far in the opposite direction.
otherwise the smoother animation, much more detailed models and sets and better compositing are nice, I guess.

It was cancelled, then it was un-cancelled. There is just way too much money in the franchise to let this opportunity go. Also, this can be a way to retain the older generation, those who were teenagers when this how started more than 10 years ago. Both a live action movie and a live action TV series have been promised. My guess is that the live action movie will be the pilot for the TV series.
Last I heard, the project is developed by Skydance, not ZAG, and I don't know if Astruc has any involvement with this.

My guess is that it is still in development, defining the settings etc. That is not uncommon, and scripts might not even be complete yet.
Still, they have to deliver soon, before some crazy anon makes the movie using a few thousand 5 second AI sequences, based on an AI generated script. Strangely, I haven't seen any Ladybug animated AI clips yet, that will probably come soon.
