I recently finished watching the original Ben 10 series and I really liked it. I've watched some clips of the sequel shows and they seem a bit off, but I could be wrong. Are they worth watching?

Your gut feeling is right. The sequels aren't really worth it. Especially if you liked the original. The things the sequels do with their takes on the characters and the canon the original set up are just hard to tolerate. It's really not worth checking out the sequels and it's genuinely bizarre how hard they tried to rewrite things from the original that were already working so well. It feels like an entirely new group did the sequels.

I say give it a shot. I watched as much of it as I could but lost interest. But there are plenty of people that still like it.

The sequels are made by people that hated the original.
In the first sequel, they go out of their way to make Gwen ugly, remove her magic and quickly pair her with Kevin of all people, while telling you the villains for the season are people that did too much incest. It's very on the nose.
The second sequel, Omniverse, well Gwen is uglified and then removed from the main cast. Some self insert weirdo replaced her as the main character. Then I didn't watch anything else so your guess for how bad it is, is as good as mine.
The third sequel, the 2016 reboot, it's not nearly as actiony as the original series, but the character interactions are fineish. A 4/10 show, okay to give it a look, and not insulting to the original since they're basically new characters.

Everything in the last decade has been a 1 or 2/10, so yeah you can give it a chance. It's a bad show so it doesn't make it to 5/10, but it may have things you enjoy. On the other hand, I downright don't recommend giving Alien Force or Omniverse a chance because they're bad, boring, and worst of all, insulting to the audience. They're 2/10s.

I never got the appeal of Ben 10 back then despite being the prime target demographic, 10. We had Danny Phantom, Teen Titans, Samurai Jack, and heck Megas XLR and Scooby Doo airing before it.

Secret saturdays comes the closest to Ben 10’s mix of fun and action. The other Ben 10 sequels or sisters shows like generator Rex is more action oriented. Hope you enjoy.

They're very messy. If you have a high tolerance for retcons, character rewrites/resets/decay, abandoned plot points, beyond mediocre designs, backgrounds, and animation (at least in AF and UA), and contrived, convenient solutions galore, go ahead. It's at least worth trying. Could be worse, could be the 2016 reboot.

Only Omniverse is. The middle two shows are stiff "animation", writing focused slop that has really bad writing. OV is animation first and it REALLY pays off.

They're fine if you view them as their own thing but still not good compared to the original. I watched Alien Force/Ultimate Alien years after I watched the original and I enjoyed it, but once I watched the original series I realized the sequels are a massive downgrade.I didn't watch Omniverse back when it was new precicely because Ultimate Alien was fresh in my memory so the huge shift in tone and art style was more noticeable, but really Ultimate Alien is exactly that o the original series. I did eventually watch Omniverse years later without going back to the older shows and it was okay. Not a masterpiece or anything but it's enjoyable. Just view them as spinoffs basically, the original show still happened and it was amazing. Maybe its better this way instead of having the original around for longer and running it to death

I only watched it for Gwen. I didn't enjoy it, a pretty dull alien of the week kid show designed to sell toys. If I were 10 years younger I probably would've gone apeshit over it but I was a jaded teenager who had, in my own estimation, grown up with far better cartoons and found Ben 10 a milquetoast offering in comparison. Except for Gwen. Gwen was a hot piece of ass. Always loved redheaded 2D girls, and her bratty attitude gave her an indescribable appeal. Like, if you break down her character into components it's not clear why she "works" the way she does, she's somehow much greater than the sum of her attributes.
