You look at these memes and think, β€œThe movie was good,” but when you get there, it's an underwhelming film. Did it feel faithful to the comics? Unfortunately, yes. I know that everyone wants to pray for the movie to be faithful. But it reminds me of something that everyone would shit on this site. It's as if people here want approval. Like, we don't give a shit about the tastes of people like us, now we have to get approval from normies. You only do this for pussy and nothing else.

You noticed right but made wrong assumptions.
It definitely showed up, very loudly proclaimed own success and then disappeared.
Except this is not an Avatar effect.
Its more that $200 millions of dollars spent on advertisement that included bots and shills on every social platform (including 4chan) working in unison to create the picture of success.
When this budget got exhausted, so was the buzz.
Because the movie is dogshit and buzz was sustained by advertising money.

This moment cracks me up, which actually was one of the most things I wasn't sure if James Gunn was a right fit for Superman. Ok, let me explain, you have to be brain-damaged to not see how James Gunn, guy who made Guardians of the Galaxy popular, wasn't an infinitely better fit for Superman than other guy who butchered Watchmen, so I didn't have a lot of reservations for the movie, but, besides Gunn's dialogue sometimes being pretty bad, one of the things which I think is his actual core strength is that he has very deadpan physical humor, most of his jokes involving physicality are better than shit he makes his actors read. And in my mind when I think Superman and comedy is still Superman 3, so that association made me doubt James Gunn a lot.

However, this moment made me laugh, because, just imagine being Lex Luthor and being so aware of what you've done to this guy, you see him flying towards you and you still decide, fuck it, might as well try to outrun a speeding bullet. It's fucking hilarious.

All mad scientist characters are Sivana-coded! Sivana is actually the first example of pop fiction's Mad Scientist archetype. Yes, similar characters existed before him, but no one had really checked off all the boxes (not unlike how Yukako from JJBA was the first yandere) until his introduction.

While he wasn't as much of a Mad Scientist at first, the Ultra Humanite predates Sivana since he was in the earliest (first year) issues of Action Comics. He went from very intelligent master criminal to someone dabbling in science and experimentation, including transferring his brain into other bodies by 1940
