Black Panther is a Kirby/Lee character with 60 years of history. Multiple critically acclaimed solo ongoings, an Avenger, the BET cross-promotional stuff under Hudlin, the direct to DVD movie, network tv cartoons, etc.
Mr. Terrific is a 30 year old character by John Ostrander with none of the prestige or history, only a few adaptations, and is mostly known as a JSA supporting character.

For the sake of argument, you can make a case for One More Day being something you can ignore like any wretched arc. You can read later stories where it doesn't come up, you can read and watch Spider-Man media in other continuities and be pretty certain there will be no mention of it, you can get away with it. Arguably, Miles isn't in the same boat, given Marvel is very much keen NOT to have him siloed in his own universe, and they're now all-in on this Spider-verse bullshit; arguably, Miles is a bigger change to the actual brand as something we're always going to see more of, than one arc everyone except Marvel editorial is willing to just forget. thats the thing, the seepage is so strong that it doesnt need to be mentioned in order to have effect. like parker luck just used to be "he gets the good with the bad", now its "fuck him to be left standing" look at the recent spider man movies. all of them end with petes life being fucked in some way or how seemingly like a punishement. how many marvel series have similar setups? daredevil and punisher, the grittier series perhaps ? outside of that spidey and his friends series for little kids, it seems like most spider man series or media leave him fucked up. shit even spider verse 1 had two spider men, and 1 was dead while the others life was destroyed. it feels like the underlying message for pete since one more day has been doing the right thing only fucking leads to more pain. like marvel is somehow punishing the character and his fans for a choice that wasnt really his to give anyway and i hate that for the character. oh wait theres also the current ultimate series, but i fear the seep and eventually pete is gonna have to super suffer
