If I have one takeaway from this, it’s that I’m glad I’m not dependent on being physically near my friends. If the opportunity came up to earn more or have a better quality of life somewhere far from where I live now, I’d be gone like a shot. I feel like you just get used to it. Friends drift away in different directions after school, then after college. It’s just a thing that happens. People come and go from your life like I come and go from other people’s.
