>Besides capeshit is like fantasy. But today.
Yeah, but they feel very different, hell even films and stories within the same genre don't feel the same, Robocop and Inspector Gadget for example. Both sci-fi, both feature a cop that gets turned into a machine to fight crime, totally different vibes. I mean shit MOTU itself can be wildly different. Compare the mini comics to the Filmation series, or for example the mini comics and the movie, which used the comics as the primary source not the cartoon. MOTU came about by mixing Conan and John Carter, fantasy and sci-fi blended together and you got MOTU as it originally was, the movie is what you get when you blend Star Wars and Superman '78.
Capeshit especially modern stuff has a level of soap opera drama built into it because the character's personalities and interpersonal dynamics are such a big part of it, fantasy has a sense of grandeur, like the difference between a couch covered in fabric and one covered in aged leather, both can be good solid pieces of furniture that will last a life time, but evoke very different feelings.
