It's almost a shame that they didn't continue the story. I kinda wanted to see what happened to the MCU after half the universe was erased. Seems like an interesting setting to explore. Oh well. Better to have ended on its own terms instead of being dragged out aimlessly without a plan for years and years, right?

The lack of primordial cosmic beings, as opposed to Infinity Gauntlet, makes this story work better. Without having the heroes play into Warlock's master plan you have a pure man vs deity story where mortals are left to their own devices to deal with a seemingly undefeatable threat. It also sells home that Thanos was the baddest motherfucker in the universe at the time with no one to challenge him.
