Back when I first saw Batman v Superman a decade ago I was 12.
All we had was Marvel flicks back then and I never knew a superhero film could be so deep and dark and have such rich symbolism.

Do you think Snyder was ahead of his time? Did he fly too close to the sun?

Do you think we will ever get another cape movie on the level of Nolan or Snyder again?

I am only presumably 2-3 years older than you and thought it was hacky as shit. How would you not know a superhero movie could be deep and dark when there were many before this that set precedent?

Hey guys, I know this is going to sound crazy, but here me out. You know how Superman saves people? And how Jesus also saves people? I think that maybe we can do something with that.

I must admit that I admire Snyder for one thing: he made symbolism in his movies so onboxious, over the top, simple and childish that all the brain dead idiots finally got to understand and experience something non-surface level for the first time in their life. Too bad it made them feel smarter than they are and instead of moving forward into understanding fiction better, they sit in place and keep worshipping a pile of shit because it's the first thing they ever stepped into.

I was 12 when I saw TASM2 and I do not think it is a piece of amazing filmmaking. I was 11 going on 12 when I saw Man of Steel and thought it was a 5/10 that was incoherent at parts. Also he STILL thinks this.

same here, I enjoy rewatching both films for the wonderful visuals and (in case of TASM 2) lore accurate Spidey humor and character but they're both trash films that don't need retrospective "maybe it wasn't bad" conversations

It doesn't matter how monumental awful something is, there's always some retarded younger generation who will let "nostalgia" blind them. It happened to star wars, it happened to the amazing spider man it happens to fucking Space Jam.

I sure fucking hope not. I hope Snyder gets carried away by a hawk and is never seen again.

No, this was just the turning point where Marvel eclipsed DC in cinema: before that the height was Nolan's Batman. Snyder dropped the mark.

>>149925352
But I am glad to see that Snyder WAS thinking about themes, symbols and composition when making it. Better than some hacks.

This reads like bait.
Snyder makes gorgeous, soulless, shallow, slop. Pretty to look at, of course. Of course it'd appeal to a 12 year old.
You're an adult now. Watch better movies and read better books. Improve on yourself. Corinthians 13:11.
