It's sad he really wanted her around but at a distance because he figured it was safer. That's why he liked the simple evil pomni ai in episode 5. But even if he got that he would probably still end up getting attached or being unsatisfied with the shallowness of it.

And not only is the song about a marriage but a marriage where you can't offer too much because of your poor condition, so it fits even more as a song for what's going on between jax and pomni. Even though jax was too messed up to offer her better he still really liked her and wanted her around.

You're all wrong. The significance of Daisy Bell is that it's the first song ever sung by a computer, which is why Hal sings it in 2001 A Space Odyssey and why Caine sings it outside of Zooble's door. It's a song intrinsic to computer science history.
I will admit it's context makes it very juicy for the shippers but it probably doesn't have any significance outside of that.

Crackpot theory, but with Caine showing symptons of abstraction this now means the dividing line bewteen NPC and player character is alarmingly thin. Jax has been given a tail freely while all other players can't have that same luxury and it is explicietly shown he can be reprogrammed by Caine to understand the revolver trust excercise. Could it be possible that Jax was an NPC who through his experiences with players like Ribbit became "sapient" and he is now desperately trying to revert back to his original constructed archetype? Thus the song reference.

Jax broke his own archetype by refusing to continue to have fun with Pombi. If he actually believed in what he said, he would be happy to be her friend, so they can continue to have fun together, prank the other characters and generally take this all less seriously.

We see Cain inspecting photos of the office space.
Cain offered an explanation for it back in ep1. But it would make sense if Pomni generated the door and office unconsciously.
