I won't deny Tangled started some of the worst trends that have held back Disney Feature Animation simply for being their first CG success, but we are NOT gonna pick on Rapunzel as a character. Her naivety is not only cute as shit, but it also makes sense in the context of the story. Girl spent her formative years alone in a tower

1. Her desire to fuck Eric is what puts her over the edge to actually sign her soul away just to meet him.
2. Helping fix a fuck up that only exists because of your retard brash decisions is not a positive. Hell Eric does most the heavy lifting to actually save the day.
3. Multiple Princesses work for their happy endings, Ariel is the exception not the rule
4. Plenty other films in the disney canon have just if not better songs and animation than Little Mermaid. It's actually pretty mediocre in terms of animation compared to the other Renaissance films.
5. Ariel isn't even that hot of a Princess.

but tangled is an excellent example of using drawn-animation techniques in CG, so it is still a technically impressive movie

They were never going to fully commit to a 2D revival, that was just Bob trying to placate Roy Disney before he died. Once Roy died not long after PatF's release, he could ditch the charade and sent Pooh to die against Harry Potter.
