Yeah... It's because he voices Matthew the Raven in that shitty Gayman Sandman Netflix show. SMT is tangentially related to Gayman Sandman since it came out after it's success.

I red this run recently, it's great stuff.

I that the first volume or the second? I still have my trades from the 2000s that didn't cover the whole series.

That is compendium two.

Actually, fellow Sandmanon, it's even more based than you realise.
This IS Volume 2.
>>149936381
It is indeed the comedian Patton Oswalt. No, I don't get it either.
Anonymous No.149936827 [Report] >>149936891 >>149937016
So with two compendiums, that'd be the whole series?
That's pretty cool, I was thinking of getting SMT physical

I WANT IT NOWWWWWWW. My LCS won't have it until early september at earliest.

The other anon can correct me, but I think it's missing the Sandman/Sandman Mystery Theatre crossover
Anonymous No.149937016 [Report] >>149937094 >>149939182
>>149936827
Yep, minus the Sandman Midnight Theatre one-shot crossover written by Neil Gaiman. Can't think why they'd leave that one out.
I love this final paragraph on the blurb. "Fans who have been patiently awaiting" indeed. How long ago was it when they first started collecting this series? But honestly, it's a nice little bit.
>And a special thanks to YOU, the reader!

I wasn't even expecting to buy anything when I went into the shop. I usually just browse, but as soon as I saw this hidden up in the corner of one shelf I knew I had to get it. Paid full RRP. Worth every penny.

Maybe for Christmas

Well shit. I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for both of them, or continue to wait and see if they do paperback.

>>149937104
You're in luck -- DC's compendiums are all paperback. Pretty great quality, too.
I'd say buy up Vol 1 quick if you can. It came out over 2 years ago now and there's no telling if/when stocks might run out.

Kevin Smith, Brian Posehn, and Patton Oswalt were some of the first real major comic fanboys(In a modern sense, not like Elvis liking Captain Marvel Junior because he read them as a kid, but wednesday warrior types) in the mainstream to talk about being comic fans, so in the 2000's they got all these writing gigs from the big two.

None of those guys were mainstream though.

Fairly recently. About this time last year iirc, after the Gunn Era officially started over on the studio side of things. Must be a sweet rock you live under.

That's pretty annoying that it's missing an issue because of probably Gaiman's irl controversies. I looked up where you can find the cross over in case people already have it or are looking to buy it. It's in Neil Gaiman's midnight days (out of print), Sandman omnibus vol 3, Absolute sandman vol 5, and vol 5 of the newer dc black label Sandman trade paperbacks/hardcovers.

Posehn not really, but Oswalt was on a popular sitcom and Smith was on the peak of his career. Not a-listers, but mainstream enough to be pushed as people normies might know who read comics.

>buying overpriced omnis that are poorly bound, censored and features intros from fat faggot "comedians"
As someone who has collected every sandman floppy i can say you are by far the biggest asshole I've seen today.

>overpriced omni
It's a simple softcover compendium, and DC is very good at giving nice discounts for these in any decent online shop. Compendiums for me typically cost only about £30-35, and I only paid full RRP this one instance because the book isn't supposed to be out for another few weeks.
>censored
Aside from the omitted Kneel Gayman issue, everything else in these comics is intact, including all the sex, murder, racism, and implied child rape.
>and features intros from fat faggot "comedians"
Can't argue with this one. At least it's just a few short paragraphs easily skipped, and

So it sounds like it's not omitted at all, DC just changed where it ends up. Big whoop.
