Galactica was only brought back since I bet you they needed some cute mult universal girl for the announcer and all marvel had on hand was Galactica

Most games seem to have new characters made for them, so it isn't surprising. But it seems a bit early to actually add one that isn't for plot reasons.

The way I see it, is marvel rivals is the only way you can push new heroes right now. If you add anyone to it itll give them an uber push .

There was already a theory the Hulk in this game was meant to be Cho but they pussied out at the last minute since they had Lin Lei as iron fist, luna snow, so another Atlas pick would have made people mad

kinda unsurpising, a lot of the mobile games have been doing this kinda thing for ages - future fight seems to have done well with luna for instance but then there was also COC's guillotine or strike force's original take on kestrel
i do think it's a bit silly to go with entirely new characters when you're working with an established ip, though? if there's a genuinely cool gameplay concept you wouldn't be able to do otherwise then i guess it makes sense but given something like marvel's got 80 years of continuity to pull from (that they're apparently allowed to pull anything from) it feels like it'd be a little more interesting for them to take the approach of reinventing a literal who that fills a similar kinda role
like for argument's sake idk a reworked red ronin or some shit, a couple of nerds would find it cool, gameplay stuff could be neat, ign could shart out one gorillion articles on the godzilla tie-ins, everyone's a winner
then again like other anons have said we don't really know if this is a matter of playable picks or not so that's a whole thing i guess

I honestly doubt they can make a good character, a lot of their best designs are from the comics themselves with a little bit more TnA but their original designs are kinda ass. And Chinese Gacha design sensibilities suck, so I expect very unremarkable generic coombait or Wuxia Classical Stereotypes.

Thowaway characters for a bust project. It decreases the licensing and intellectual property, copyright, etc costs for Marvel, so I guess it's good.

Best case scenario: Oc's are gonna be background characters of major importance. Galactica and Knull levels of power

Middling scenario: Alt versions of named heroes become oc's. We get ching ching Absorbing Man or Jap Agatha

Middling scenario 2: We get 1 to 2 Orginal Heroes

Worse case: we get 5 oc's and marvel will have to write them into 616 comics. And they're all dps
