Hey man, I have that comic.
And no, Byrne's Superman wasn't very strong in those comics. A nuclear bomb affected him quite a bit.
I mean, that's pretty powerful, but if we compare him to rebirth Superman, post-Crisis or the New 52, that's nothing.
