I liked Man of Steel and I defend Superman killing Zod in that movie, but I prefer Superman to be more like how Gunn portrayed him. Superman's absolutely the type to do such a thing, and he absolutely does have time. He's Superman. That's what he does.

Snyder doesn't get that and that's why his take on the character is a failure and an insult to Superman's legacy.

You know, I don't know if it is bait or not, but when I first saw the scene, I did think it was a little exaggerated, like it was trying too hard to show that he is a caring person that does his best to help everyone, but I think it's fine.

No wonder Superman saved the squirrel. I had a feeling this movie was conservative coded but I couldn't put my finger on it. I know Gunn called this a pro-immigration movie but look at Superman's journey in the film. He finds out his parents would want to rape women and conquer his new home which leads to him rejecting his Kryptonian identity and fully embracing his American Midwest upbringing. It gives a message to immigrants to be like Superman, when you show up to your new country, fucking help. Don't bring your baggage here, tradition is just dead man's baggage we carry for no reason. You're an American now, how can I assist? Superman also acts without thinking as when he admitted to holding a world leader up to a cactus to stop an invasion without clearing up a lot of red tape first or getting the approval of Congress to step into an international affair. That's been every conservative-coded hero since forever. And his motivation? To stop people from dying. That's the single most heroic reason to do anything. But when the media picks it apart (interview with Lois,) he comes across as a fascist dickbag when he's the greatest hero of them all. And then what the far left like to bitch about the most, the "power fantasy" of someone being all powerful and not being corrupted by it. (That's right folks, they hate you for even wanting to help.)
