Kind of pisses me off when they make founding X-Men members (Cyclops, Jean) the "teen" members and make Wolverine and Storm the elders, it fucks with the lore and makes it harder to adapt the Claremont stuff when they do that.

It's worse that they made Kurt a teen when we never see him as one in the comics. He joined when he was an adult. At least Jean and Scott were around 16 when they were introduced and we kinda saw their "school years". But never Kurt, or even Rogue.

Good, Scott should be team leader. Wolverine just based on his characterization doesn't work as team leader, the only advantage he has is his reluctant paternal relationship with Kitty, Rogue and Jubilee.

X-Men, if we talk about the pre 2000 teams, doesn't work with the characters as teens. Even when Scott, Jean, and the others were portrayed in school, it was the 60s and they didn't behaved like modern teens. Also, they weren't in an actual school either. It was just the HQ in which they trained their powers.
Thr mansion became only a "proper" school after the 2000s because previous writers weren't mentally stuck in their high school years as the modern ones are. They want to write school drama and the mutants are the vehicle.

nope the X-Mansion became a school for mutants after the 2000 film did it and became a popular idea. Millar's Ultimate X-Men did the same thing, the concept of Xavier also teaching mutant children who would otherwise be ostracized from regular schools is a good concept.

It became a popular idea with people reading from that time because school sitcoms were still a thing. Also, in the movies, the school and students are a secondary element of the main story.
The x-men are heroes and they're meant to fight big robots and aliens and some occasional psycho, not being stuck in a classroom studying or teaching.
To me, the absolute bottom of this insanity was Kitty close to begging Gambit to be a teacher because apparently that was all the contribution he could make to the Xmen to the point they had to create a class for him to be there and somehow he was the unreasonable for wanting to do something else with his life and skills.

I loved Jean costume. Even today that I understand the beauty of goth girls I still don't find that Rogue attractive at all

"Mess the lore" in the animated everything is messed, and all adapted to the Jim Lee comic.

Maybe it's nostalgia but I really enjoyed my last rewatch

The character dynamics were great
The Brotherhood boys were a fun group of rivals
Even Spyke wasn't that bad, he fit in with the first class pretty well as the bratty hothead youngest
And the bit of focus the New Mutants started getting in season 2 as the first class started transitioning into instructors and teachers offered a fun dynamic and gave some spotlight to minor characters like Magma and Boom Boom

Evolution is all over with original team. Scott and Jean are highschoolers and part of the main team, Beast joins later and is a teacher, Bobby is with the New Mutants(who collectively do absolute fuck all) and Warren is just some guy I don't think he ever actually joins them or sticks around.

I liked the idea of Rogue getting Alia’d by the personality imprints of the people she touched early on
