I haven't consumed any other TMNT media besides this film and I really liked it growing up.

What are the TMNT-heads feelings towards it?

It's a cool scene, and well done. It's reminiscent of Return to NY, TMNT issue 19. Any time Leo and Raph go at it, it's good.

Is April still ugly?

Leonardo told no lies. Raph went for the kill-shot and broke his blades which is something Leonardo has more than enough respect to never do to his brothers since he has to practice using two weapons that kill people dead instantly. And t he fact that, like, how is Leonardo supposed to honestly source a replacement like that? They're not criminals but now he's definitely going to have to steal some swords from somewhere. Don't break your brothers' toys.

Raph didn't either. Leo split, and he left them to deal with things back home without him. The fight was justified, sometimes you got to just get down to business, but Raphael didn't need to break his swords.

The issue with Modern TMNT is the rivalry between Raph and Leo always come off as petty/bitchy melodramatics. Especially when it feels like Raph and Leo are at each other throats just for the sake of conflict and nothing more meaningful. I also hate when I feel like it is present just because it is a dynamic of their relationship and it's clear that the writers put it there because Raph and Leo traditionally are odds with each other.

I thought it had the best Karai and also Foot Ninja designs, the monsters were pretty cool but the oc villains are boring and the drama of Leo being seperated from the other 3 was odd.

I think it's boring, all the best parts like the Raph vs Leo fight and construction site fight against Karai are good, but everything leading up to and after them is so slow and uninteresting to watch. Also Donnie and Mikey might as well not be in the film with how little they contribute.

Are there any stories that focus more on the relationship between Leo and Mikey? I feel like it's an aspect of TMNT that doesn't get much attention because Leo's always paired with Raph and Mikey usually gets stuck with Donatello.

Modern TMNT is garbage. The relaunch was just contrived shit. Jason Aaron talked about getting back to that Mirage vibe, but it never happened. Lazy writing, lazy fight scenes. The whole thing was just bad. IDW can only pander to Cowabunga Pizza Turtle fans. They don't give a fuck about Mirage fans, jusy like everyone else.
