This'd be more fun if the past 5 or so years weren't already so aggressively filled with endless Godzilla glazing in crossover books and such. It's almost able to stand out on the fact that this genuinely feels like a stupid playground fight, where Godzilla just goes "nuh uh" to everything and every other character is acting like fucking doofuses and goobers for some reason, but with all the other pushes for Godzilla, it just ends up feeling corporate instead.

This is a particularly unfun way to do it too. The old Marvel Godzilla comics had escalation and tried to slowly acclimate you to what the beast could do, and even showed it adapting a bit as the story progressed. The other characters took it all seriously the same way they would any other big great.

The power wanking here is entirely because of marvel writers setting up a setting with insane power levels and then poorly inserting godzilla into it instead of making it a fun narrative where the monsters interject. You could even have him communicate by using a telepath to interact like in the heisei movies but Marvel settled for this being the recurring "someone stomps marvel, wow!" comic this year.
Godzilla is a tragic or reluctant anti-hero in some movies, a villain in others and in showa he was a goofy dinosaur hero after the first few movies.
Think of him like the superman of giant monsters, basically. Versatile, jobs sometimes, gets wanked in powerscaling crossovers. The bonus being that he originates and has some serious movies that are great on their own merit, then also a ton of toku stuff that's just fun/cool and/or goofy.
Funny that you mention Mothra since Godzilla lost twice to her (nevermind that they're from the same studio), but he also loses plenty of other times.

One thing that's always pretty good with Goji is that he's easily recognizable and pretty flexible.
If Marvel actually put effort into things, they could make Godzilla's backstory work in Marvel and have him be OP and I don't think anybody would care. Godzilla's backstory is all over the place even in just his own movies, no reason it couldn't work
