What run needs to be adapted in the big screen to make Diana mega popular again after her WW 1984 disaster?

Always thought Diana could use a Frieren-style elseworlds story that explores her immortality. After the Justice League defeats Darkseid, Steve Trevor dies of old age and Diana realizes too late that she never truly knew him. She then wanders through decades with Donna Troy (Fern) and someone like Blue Beetle or Booster Gold, reflecting on her fallen friends and clashing philosophically with Vandal Savage or Circe as a final ideological foil (and her Serie).

Genuinely Absolute Wonder Woman. It changes enough to make it interesting and unique from the DCEU take, but the core of Diana remains the same. The framing device of every issue would need to be tweaked, but there's a solid structure there.

Absolute Wonder Woman is fantastic, one of the best ongoing comic runs right now. Maybe even the best if you don't count various miniseries as ongoings.

Tom King's Wonder Woman is certainly not the worst run for Diana. But it's not great. It's overly serious, Tom King is shit at dialogue, Trinity is a really lame character.
There is also way too much focus on the concept of DC's trinity. (I never really cared for that idea, like I just don't buy that Wonder Woman would really get along with Batman, or be any closer to her than any other Justice League member) and it's also too America-centric.
Like the first arc was all 'oh no America hates Wonder Woman now!' I can't help but think 'who cares?' She's fucking Wonder Woman, she can be badass in any of the other 195+ countries on the planet.

Well I think at some point they need to adapt the Silver Swan saga.
Wonder Woman starts living with an American family, but Dr. Psycho iirc kills that family's daughter and then brings her back as an evil villain.

But we also haven't had a more comic accurate origin story for her yet. The 2017 film is all about WW1, which is cool, but not really an authentic retelling of her origin.
They could just do her origin, her romance with Steve Trevor, and her stopping like Circe or Dr. Psycho.
