I wouldn't really call this stuff escapism more than any other romantic story. The guy compulsively doodles anything that comes into his head, as in he literally can't stop himself from drawing even as it kills his hands or he abandons projects because he can't help but chase new ideas. He definitely has a few screws loose but as far as I can tell he's a functional member of society who is getting paid to do his hobby.

Call me a projecting prat but this really just feels like the dude is just so lonely his only way of trying to externalize his issues is by writing tons of happy ending, male-brained romance stories
it's sad to look at because he looks so desperate for human contact he had to make it up in his mind, and the people who buy it off of him are just as sad

this is feelgood slop for the terminally lonely without substance coming from a place of hurt
