You can't really do a Ruins-type book for Krakoa because true Ruins-style Krakoa is "and then the island eats them." For an actual bad end story that works you'd want to focus on the increasing disconnect from the major social groups in Krakoa. You've got the mass of inhabitants who are continuously sinking further and further into pointless debauchery and hedonism, the Five and other mutants who have to be disconnected from Krakoan society because they're the ones keeping it running, and the Council/Hellfire Trading Company who don't really do anything but act like they're the important ones. The book would be something like 20 years after Krakoa was founded and no one knows what the fuck is going on anymore. The drugs are still being shipped, but barely anyone ever leaves the island and they don't give a shit about mutants in the wider world anymore. So you've got some mutant who washes up on the coastline and is basically "just fucking nuke the place" and the rest of the story is them leading a small group to document what it's like on Krakoa. There is no real society or culture, just a bunch of people who eat, fuck, and kill as it amuses them, anyone who is against it gets tossed in the Pit or killed and never resurrected, the Council spends all its time securing its own power and making moves against itself but nothing changes because everyone has their own pocket clones of The Five to bring them back immediately. Any vital task has long since been covered by mindless clones to prevent anyone from taking power, you have duplicates of people running around because cloning two or three copies at a time is more convenient when there is a problem, you've got people running around who are nigh-feral because they came to Krakoa as kids or were born there and all they got was a language downloaded into their head and no other education or socialization. A land of zero impulse control or consequences.
