I would not write a sex comedy about a dog getting neutered in the first place.
But let's pretend I'm a writer anyway. Let's say an executive has told me that the gay dog rape has to go and it needs a replacement. Something that's smutty but doesn't go that far. Here's an attempt:
Bull actually tries to fight Sterling like he intended to. Their fight turns out to be anti-climactic. Sterling is bigger, faster and stronger. He easily defeats Bull. Then he gloats about how he's about to have sex with Honey even though she means nothing to him, and he taunts Bull about his imminent castration. As a desperate last-ditch effort, an angered Bull bites Sterling into his nuts. Sterling howls in pain, their owners see and freak out, and the whole breeding session gets interrupted.
Later Honey and Bull have their discussion about why Bull would do something like that, and they both share their confessions. Timeskip shows Bull with his puppies, and a very sour Sterling. His testicle injury forced the vet to remove his balls.
Alternatively, if I had to write a movie about a dog getting neutered, I'd go for a totally different direction. I'd drop the sex comedy angle and focus more on Bull's relationship with his owners. Some of the scenes showed that the dogs who got fixed had trouble trusting their humans anymore. Bull didn't understand how his owners could love him yet still decide to neuter him. That angle was more interesting but it was barely explored. So I'd make a movie where the focus is on how humans and dogs see each other, and what kind of an impact they have on one another's lives.
