I deeply despise any and all villains that come out of nowhere and are relevant to nothing, but we're all to believe that they're suddenly the biggest baddest thing around. From Doomsday to Batkek, I despite them all.

Fuck off. Just because they were preceded by an arc foreshadowing their arrival doesn't change the fact that they're retarded zero-effort characters that are introduced as an extremely cynical way to wow normalfags and autistic powerscalers into thinking they're reading something impactful simply by upping the power levels to meaningless new heights.

It's not that new, powerful villains should never be introduced, but they should actually be relevant to the story and not some outside force hamfistedly being shoved into the story for cheap drama. They should have a story, rather than warp the story around them in a transparent attempt to make them look impressive.

That was one thing I liked about Bane. He's tough, but he didn't beat Batman because he's super-ultra-powerful or whatever, he just had a good plan to beat Batman and didn't hesitate or stick him in a complicated deathtrap or anything.

Hell, Joker just wrote Bane off as a "new rookie" and Jean-Paul Valley beat the crap out of him soon after, so it's not like the comic was going out of its way to dickride him.

Morlun is cool. He's like the only OG Straczynski villain with staying power. Him beating the shit out of Spidey in his first arc and Other was brutal.
People mostly hate him because of Spider-Verse, which is mostly about his donut steel OC family. And even then, Spider-Verse hatred is mostly about the movie.

A C-list Spidey rogue with the power to "find the answer to any problem". I hate how retarded and nonsensical this power is when you think about it for more than five seconds. It has no clear rules or limits, and he shouldn't ever get defeated with this power. His backstory is stupid too because he used to be a Kingpin goon who found "answers" to the problems of people snitching on Kingpin. Get it? His backstory lines up with his power? Except it's complete fucking nonsense because "finding answers" is an abstract, metaphorical concept. Being bitten by a radioactive spider and getting the powers of a spider makes some sense, spiders are real things whose powers you can observe and translate to a human, there's a simplistic internal logic to it. But what the fuck is the power of "finding answers to problems"?

I don't completely hate him, he was clearly created as a goofy light-hearted villain for Claremont and Byrne to have some fun, and he has an entertaining enough personality. But his gimmick really strecthes my suspension of disbelief. Call it autistic, but I can believe that a genius villain can build a death laser in his spare time or something. It's not awfully realistic, but at least it's a single relatively small-scale invention. But this guy can apparently construct ENTIRE FUCKING THEME PARKS with complex AI and machinery and all sorts of bullshit in his spare time. I imagine a single Arcade park would take months, if not years, to make. And they all get smashed by X-Men anyway. He's ridiculously high-maintenance villain when you think about it, family fortune or not. If I was Arcade I would kill myself after my painstaikingly crafted torture theme park that took years to build got wrecked by the X-Men for the third time.

I like Mr Negative, he should corrupt superheroines more. My fetishism aside I do think his simple design is to his benefit since he actually looks like a Spidey villain somewhat in that Tombstone/Hammerhead niche and I think the duality aspect can be compelling but I hate the one retcon Slott made to his past where he isn't even the actual Martin Li.
