I finally sat down and watched this today because you wouldn't shut the fuck up about it and I wanted to see if Mister Terrific was done well. Let's have one more thread about it.

First off, I think it's psychotic that the writers' approach to making Superman a reinvented symbol for positivity in the 2020s was to make him a combination of a stereotypical autistic guy and, like, a smug, snarky middle school teacher. The plot point about him being into a pop-punk band that Lois dismisses as industry plant top-40 posershit resonated with me to some extent, but they're not trying to portray Andrew Hussie's relationship with Insane Clown Posse, they're trying to portray pseudo-Weird-Twitter millenials' relationship with Limp Bizkit.

Terrific was cool, but he was too heroic and not on screen long enough. Adapting him as a sandpapery black dad might be accurate to the comics, but I dunno.

Hoult Luthor was where I think they really fucked up and it's pretty fucking crazy that they thought intentionally writing him to be corny and annoying and a vapid, sniveling douche who's self-aware about how retarded he is would go over well. Even the casting basically slants him as a day-trader finance bro.

Terrible start. This is a comics board anon, no shit it was being discussed. If you didn’t care initially then you caving to the influence of the /co/omers doesn’t deflect responsibility, it just makes me assume you have no backbone.
