One I think the main issue with this is he attacked a known superhero family member. as much as supervillains think they want to go mess up a hero's life and loved ones most super villains at the standing in front of someone a hero truly cares about if they have any common sense to realize if I miss this guy up in the name of hood in the hero the heel is going to go on big extra step to say no don't any of you guys try that again. I think there's another aspect of that.
When writers use rapist villains, they want punching bags. Pick a crime so vile (by society's standards) that the audience would want to see that villain completely broken and destroyed and deliver it tenfold, resulting in a very weak and underwhelming villains who are kinda sorta evil but not really threatening.
It's not just rape, it's the same with villains killing cute animals.
It's why I don't like MCU Purple Man.
