This pisses the /co/ boomers off but I grew up in an era when they had already been fimly established as Magneto's kids so I have no particular reaction to that bit of trivia.

>THEY'RE TOTALLY RELATED
Surprised they didn't try to cockjam Felicia into being Magneto's kid by the same reasoning.

Anyways, no, keep them the fuck away from Magneto.

Real Life:

And those two arent contradictory. Especially when there's such a thing as shared characters.

And while wanda is more of an avengers character, pietro's more of an x-men character.

I don’t mind them being Magneto’s kids but I minded the way people pretended it was a defining part of who they are, when it was just the best of many different origins/parents.

After the success of “House of M” Marvel really seemed to be pushing them more as Magneto’s children than Avengers. They weren’t allowed to be in the Avengers cartoon because “Wolverine & the X-Men” snapped them up first for portrayals that had almost nothing to do with the comics.

Luckily Joss Whedon is an older guy who remembered that the Magneto origin didn’t exist in the 70s when Wanda was at her peak of popularity as an Avenger. Without that I think the MCU would not have used them due to not being allowed to make them Magneto’s children.

Now I’ve shifted my ire to people who want the MCU versions to stay dead because they’re not “Romani and Jewish” like the comics.

In the end the only origin that doesn’t suck is the MCU version, which is the closest to what they originally were: generic Eastern European orphans who misguidedly work for Nazis (since they worked for the OG Magneto who was very clearly based on Hitler).

>pietro's more of an x-men character.
Not really. At best the X-books treated him as a side character in a secondary or tertiary spinoff book, and it was just one editor and one writer in the X-office who cared about him.

There's a misconception that the Magneto connection made Quicksilver an "important" X-Men character, but it's more just fans thinking it SHOULD make him important. It never made Lorna important in the X-books either.
Anonymous No.149990160
Only if they hate him. Under no circumstances should they like him, and Pietro should view him as a grim warning of his potential future

Making them lovers was fucking hilarious, and a reminder of how confusing their lore is. And it's even funnier in Ultimate 3, where they double down on the funny by making Magneto a cuck.

Look, anon, just because the 2015 Scarlet Witch series had an issue that was almost entirely a conversation between Wanda and Pietro, and the artist kept Wanda in her underwear for the whole issue, and doing yoga poses at the start, just so it'd be a visually interesting conversation issue for the readers, it doesn't mean they're lovers, you pervert. It just meant that Marvel editorial was paying so little attention to the book that they could do a fanservice issue at a time when the idea seemed impossible.

The argument between the twins was stupid, but that issue got storytimed here so many times because of the art.

>>149990177
As with Millar doubling down on wifebeater stories for Ultimate Hank Pym, it just turned them into a joke. And it was bad enough that in Ultimate, the twins were willing members of the Brotherhood, missing the entire point of the characters in the first place.
Anonymous No.149990367
>>149985621
Like a lot of the retcons imposed on the twins, it didn't seem like a problem until suddenly it was. And now they're clearly better off without it. X-Men fandom and adaptations creating a lot of people whose entire idea of who Wanda and Pietro are starts and ends with "Magneto's kids" and they don't care about anything else is a problem that never needed to happen, as they had no real need or reason to add in-name-only versions of the twins to most of those adaptations in the first place.

>Now I’ve shifted my ire to people who want the MCU versions to stay dead because they’re not “Romani and Jewish” like the comics.
>people who got all their information form Wikipedia articles and try to pretend they're actual comics fans
These assholes are trying to enforce a change to the twins' appearance and religion to fit their headcanon, they needed to be gatekept out of the fandom by any means necessary.

Wanda and Pietro look like this, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to shut up.

>The more important thing is that they are and have always been mutants
For Wanda it's largely been irrelevant most of the time, and she simply works better as a character whose powers are purely magical.

In 2025 people who just want to read about a witch who marries an android shouldn't be having to deal with awful stories about a fictional minority being persecuted instead, or stories about Magnet Man being a dad, just because something used to be canon years ago, and people can't let go of it even though it was never really any good for the characters.

There's a more understandable argument with Pietro being one of those fools who let mutant identity politics take over his life, and if Marvel had any balls they'd actually explore what it means for someone to build his whole personality around identity like that to then find out he was never really part of that group. There's interesting material there that they're just too afraid to go near, which has had the consequence that neither of the twins seemed to care at all about not being mutants.

Missing the point? Pre-80s X-Men is a mess. It's impossible to make sense of it, and they weren't even mutants at first.
Anonymous No.149990799 >>149990895
They can be Magneto's kids if the incest is ALSO canon because it generates the maximum amount of seethe and is the most interesting outcome. Vision was always trash and incredibly fucking boring and Magneto deserves to have his MUH HOMO SUPERIOR ranting deflated by his own children being incestual weirdos trying to make mutant alabama.
Anonymous No.149990895
>>149990636
Missing the point that Wanda and Pietro weren't really villains, and were inherently good people that should have been superheroes, but were being forced to be part of the Brotherhood because they owed Magneto their lives. There's nothing "impossible to make sense of" in that, it's just basic facts about the characters that too many X-Men readers don't know at all because newcomers keep getting told not to ever read anything from before 1975, so now there's some stupid misconception that "they were in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants so they must have been evil" that affected Millar's Ultimate Marvel, Aaron's Heroes Reborn event, and several X-Men cartoons.

>>149990799
Pretty sure there's several Tracy Scops porn comics for your incest fantasies, leave the real canon alone.

Starting them out as kids who aren't that powerful yet compared with their adult selves was probably for the best, though it remains to be seen if this continuity will live long enough for them to grow up, or even get much focus in a book with too many characters already.

The designs aren't great, but they're better than the absolute state of the twins in 616 right now, despite giving Pietro gayface again. As long as they steer clear of making them mutants, incestuous, or related to Magneto, maybe they'll be OK this time.
