I hate the concept of time as a mortal being. Why did we have to have learn the concept of mortality and eternal nothing thereafter. What a cruel trick life is. Wait, didn't he and his wife die last year in a mysterious gas leak accident? Did we ever figure out just what happened?

So apparently his wife got sick from rat feces and while she tried getting help her lungs atrophied until she died. Gene didn't realise she was gone and seemingly idled until he died as well from Alzheimer's.
It was a bit of a mystery that February, but from what I can tell we now know it's really a sad story about what Alzheimer's and no contingency plans can do to someone.
Apparently his will originally planned for his wife to inherit his estate when he passed, but since they both died his wife's will said that in that case all of the proceeds went to charity. Man, this was a sad read.
