I watched the first 2 seasons then dropped it. All the important plot points were completed, the show starts with dracula, and ends with his death. I don't really care to watch whatever side character storylines they drug out beyond that.

All European Pagan religions are just a bastardized version of worshiping God. The point is there are frankly too many similarities to make it a coincidence in my opinion. Even though they aren't indo-european, whatever those ancient jews were smoking was the grounds for a return to less heathen-y worship. Which got perfected with Christ. Why God chose the Levant to start propagating a return to proper worship of him, I don't know. Honestly all this boils down to some people being pissy the tales of the Bible mainly took place in the Levant and Middle East, and not Northern Europe. In the alternate reality where God put his focus on Northern Europe and Christ was born in Denmark or something, so many larpagans would be dickridding the religion so damn much. I did mostly enjoy the second season of Nocturne for what it was despite finding the first season extremely mediocre outside of Drolta (it's obvious they were having fun with the character just through shit like >>150002504), but I could've lived without Nocturne too

The actual problem is it feels like it was written by a bunch of teenagers. Full of the sort of simple minded, mostly incorrect critiques of historical Catholicism common of children who have just realized their community has been flatout lying to them about pretty much everything since they were born. Dumb shit like how they killed the superior intellectualism of the Greco-Roman world and the like. Or how Isaac's character arc is the most simplistic nonsense about him not realizing coming into town with a literal zombie army makes people tense. And him expressing genuine surprise when someone asks why he doesn't just try to set a better example for people.

It's childish nonsense in the end. Edgy, angsty, shallow teenage nonsense. Least the fights were interesting.
