I have had so many shit titles come out that I was excited for intially that I have been forced to enjoy indi slop or emulate ps1 and ps2 titles. I loved the Arkham titles and Lego Batman was one of the few Lego games that I really enjoyed when I was younger. I really want to believe this will be the perfect marriage of the two but there is the part of my mind that thinks while it will have the combat/stealth system of Arkham it will unlikely have the map/layout design. Throw in the importance of atmosphere too and I think the best case scenario is that we have an Arkham Knight with a Lego theme

It wasn't gritty like Arkham games, closer to wackier, less serious BTAS episodes or Adam West show but it was definitely there. If they can recapture that feel, then maybe that could work.

The combat is Arkham material but the stealth element is lacking somewhat. The takedowns are very generous as it generates no bodies and the enemy detection radius from the footage I have watched so far is fairly narrow

I still can't fathom how anybody thought that would be a good idea. Everything about it screamed "shitty idea". I'm not even opposed to a SS game if it's done well but that ain't it.
GaaSlop is a risky idea with Overwatch being a major lightning in a bottle.
In terms of writing and tone it feels exactly like Saints Row 2022 and came out after everybody hated Saints Row 2022, so maybe that could've been a clue.
Making it a sequel to Arkham games while feeling and playing nothing like Arkham games instead being a generic shooter should've certainly be seen as a stupid idea.
And yeah, the concept of killing Justice League yeah, muh clones, shut up feels like a spit in the face after years of people begging to play as JL members like Superman or WW.
Also let's ride the multiverse slop train while we're at it, at the time people were slowly but surely getting tired of multiverse no less. What could go wrong?

Do you think we'll be able to change suits for the villain characters? It's kinda weird that a comic book style Red Hood (complete with chemical bath) would become Nolan Joker (in design at least).

They saw the success of the Suicide Squad movie perform well, so they allocated all their resources to one of their best devs that is Rocksteady (not anymore lmao) hoping the same can happen.

And also, considering the post credits of Arkham Origins seems to reference Suicide Squad, the game has been in development for over a decade, only to get shut down less than a year later. So yeah, WB fucked up real hard here the moment they try to make a non-Batman game
